Internationality & Research

The internationalization of the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences cannot be overlooked. You will meet more and more students on the campus who are not from Germany. Currently, the rate of international students enrolled at the university is around 10 percent. Many of the students come from so-called threshold countries, from different cultural backgrounds. Weingarten offers them the opportunity to experience European culture, because Upper Swabia is a cultural area with a 2000 year old history.

International students enrich the university life, be it in the lectures, in common projects, in leisure time and in the halls of residence. "Cross-cultural communication" is not just a slogan, but everyday reality - for students and for our professors.

For German students, the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences defines itself as a university in a rural area with global orientation. Its motto is: "Rural Base - Global Face". Therefore, it has about 65 partnerships with universities abroad.

Students of Mechatronics have the possibility to work in the framework of interesting national and international research projects. The Institute of Applied Research at the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences works on many application-oriented research projects. Projects with the focus on "robotics" and "intelligent systems" offer particularly suitable possibilities for integrating research issues into the Mechatronics course itself.
